The skills and knowledge required of union officials has dramatically changed over a number of years. Specialist roles such as lead organisers, growth organisers, generalist organisers, call centre organisers and industrial, research and legal staff have been created and different training and development approaches are being called for. The Centre’s new modular delivery will enable unions to tailor staff development to their particular needs.
