  25th Anniversary of Union Aid Abroad APHEDA
Union Aid Abroad APHEDA celebrates its 25th anniversary with its annual Christmas cocktails in Melbourne. This year Casey Bennetto and The Bella Fellas perform with special guest appearances from Alan Brough, Geraldine Quinn and The Caravan Of Love alongside a light dinner, cocktails, silent auctions and surprises. Tickets are $65.00 per person with discounts available for group bookings.

  Asbestos Awareness Week events at VTHC
This month, VTHC is holding two events for Asbestos Awareness Week. 'Towards a National Blueprint for Action on Asbestos' is a forum held on the 24th to discuss the necessary elements of a state and national ‘blueprint for the elimination of asbestos’. On the 25th of November - the VTHC will host a discussion evening in the Bella Union Bar with authors Matt Peacock and Gideon Haigh.

  2009 Union Educators Conference
Building on the success of the last three education conferences the conference this year is designed to:
  • Connect with and learn from other educators
  • Celebrate the role of education in our movement
  • Challenge us as educators and challenge existing attitudes, beliefs and fears
  • Create confident learners

  KnoW Cancer in the Workplace Forum
The KnoW Cancer in the Workplace Forum is a national forum on cancer in the Australian workplace, which is jointly coordinated by the Cancer Council Australia and the ACTU. With the most recent estimate indicating that one in seven Australians are exposed to carcinogens at work, this forum is a must for anyone interested in workplace health and safety.The program features a number of prominent national and international speakers including Larry Stoffman (Canada), Pam Eliason (USA, pictured left) and Vincent J. Cogliano (France). Registrations close on 23 November.

  Australian Employee Ownership Association AGM
The Assistant Federal Treasurer, Senator Nick Sherry, will make a keynote address about the role Employee Share Schemes play in the Australian economy - at the upcoming AGM of the Australian Employee Ownership Association. This component of the AGM is open to anyone interested in employee equity and who wishes to hear Minister Sherry and others have to say about employee share scheme legislation and employee ownership in Australia.
