Cath Bowtell - Senior Industrial Officer Cath has worked in a number of roles at the ACTU over the past 14 years including advising on the legal, industrial and parliamentary responses to the government’s industrial relations and superannuation legislation. Prior to joining the ACTU she was assistant secretary of the NTEU Victorian branch. Recently Cath led union negotiations during the passage of the Fair Work Act, which replaced WorkChoices and secured rights to collectively bargain, a decent safety of wages and conditions in awards and legislation, unfair dismissal protection and a role for independent umpire to oversee the system. |

Jenny Evans - Director of ACTU Organising, Education and Campaign Centre Jenny became Director of the ACTU Organising Centre in May 2008. Her union involvement began in the early 80’s as a workplace delegate with ACOA in Melbourne and Hobart. She became President of the Tasmanian Branch and was then employed as an organiser. When she returned to Melbourne in 1991 she commenced employment with the Trade Union Training Authority (TUTA) as a national educator. Since 1996, she has primarily worked in all aspects of the Organising Centre’s program with a variety of unions all around Australia. Based in Perth, she has worked particularly with union leaders and lead organisers to build leadership skills and strategies for growth.
